Kansas City Expungement Lawyer

Kansas City Traffic Lawyer

Traffic offenses can have serious consequences, including loss of your license and increased insurance premiums. An experienced traffic violation lawyer can help you avoid these consequences by negotiating an outcome to your charge that will avoid points on your driving record or, if needed, taking your case to trial. In most cases, you won’t even have to appear in court.

To get started, call me at (816) 287-0172 or email me at ben@thejanssenlawoffice.com to discuss your case for free. I will get back to you the same day with an estimate. You can expedite the process by attaching an image of your citation to your email.

  • Simple moving violations (speeding, no turn signal, lane use violations, etc.)
  • Driving without insurance
  • Driving while revoked
  • Driving while suspended
  • DWI

Many drivers pay tickets for what they think are inconsequential traffic violations only to be notified several days later that their licenses will be suspended or revoked as a result. Missouri suspends  a driver’s license for accruing eight points in eighteen months and revokes a driver’s driving privilege if he or she accumulates twelve points in twelve months, eighteen points in twenty four months, or twelve  points in thirty six months. It is therefore a good idea to discuss your case with an experienced attorney prior to taking any action on your own.

If you have already paid or plead guilty in court to a traffic ticket, I may be able to help you remove the conviction from your record, often before your suspension even takes affect. You can find addition information about removing past convictions on my Reinstatement and Expungement pages, by calling me at 816-287-0172 for a free consultation, or by completing my online client intake form.

Special considerations regarding traffic tickets include whether a driver is under 21, whether the driver holds a commercial driver’s license, and the driver is a US citizen. If you fall into one of these categories, my advice in the preceding paragraph is doubly important. If you fall into one of these categories DO NOT PAY YOUR TICKET BEFORE TALKING TO A TRAFFIC VIOLATION LAWYER. Doing so might permanently affect your future ability to drive or, in the case of a resident alien, to remain in the country of become United States Citizen.

Additional information regarding Missouri’s point system can be found on the Missouri Department of Revenue’s webpage. You can verify the number of points you’ll accrue for a given offense using Missouri Form.
